X-IT Ladder

The X-IT ladder is a unique fire escape ladder, being quality engineered to meet our customer's needs for quick, reliable and safe escape. It is designed principally for escape down vertical walls. Our experience in fire escape ladders has led us to incorporate some unique features.

Safe and Steady Descent with XIT Ladder

Our customers tell us they need to feel steady during their descent. Hence the XIT ladder is designed to lock semi-rigid so that, unlike rope and chain ladders, you won't sway or swing through passing windows as you descend. This makes it easy for an adult to carry down a young child using one of our escape ladder child carriers.

Secure Window Clamping and Wall Clamping

Window frames can be unreliable anchors which is why X-IT, unlike other escape ladders, can clamp onto the wall below the window instead. This emergency ladder is adjustable and as well as wall clamping and window clamping, it can be clamped over a water radiator.

Firm Footing for an Emergency Escape

To make your descent as safe and as easy as possible during an emergency escape, the X-IT incorporates 'stand-offs' which hold the ladder away from the wall, allowing you to get a firm footing on the flat rungs.

Easy Storage, Lightweight & Quick to Use

The X-IT ladder's compact size (30cm x 50cm approx) makes it easy to store under your bed or in a cupboard and as it is lightweight it can be set up in seconds in the case of an emergency. Just position the escape ladder over the wall below the window and release the ladder by pulling the cord.

Emergency X-IT Ladder Specifications

The X-IT emergency ladder is available in four lengths to suit your home or office. Rungs can be removed to suit your exact height.

The adjustable frame is 12 inches (30cm) wide and is designed to hook over a wall of up to 20 inches (51cm) thickness.

The ladder is made of zinc-plated mild steel and is independently tested to withstand a distributed load of 454kg (1000 lbs).

Ladder lengths and approximate weights:-

• 10ft (3.0m) : 6.7kg (15lbs)
• 15ft (4.6m) : 8.7kg (19lbs)
• 20ft (6.1m) : 10.7kg (24lbs)
• 25ft (7.6m) : 12.7kg (28lbs)
